Hello,

I’m looking to connect with sellers who do business on Meesho, particularly in the sleepwear category. I’d like to understand the benefits and challenges of working with Meesho. I’ve heard that many of the top sellers are on this platform, so I’m eager to learn from your experiences.

If you’re a seller on Meesho, please feel free to reach out!

Selling clothes on Meesho has become incredibly challenging, especially if you’re not willing to invest heavily in paid promotions. While it was a promising platform when it first started, new sellers now struggle to gain traction.

From personal experience, out of 100 orders we processed:

45% were RTO (Return to Origin)

20% were fake returns

5% were lost during transit

This left us with only 30% of the orders to profit from, but even that was largely offset by RTO charges. In the end, the margins were razor-thin, making it tough to sustain.

@david67

Clothing is a trial-based product, regardless of the platform you sell on. High return rates are inevitable in this category.

@david67 what you mean by charges for RTO, meesho don’t charge any money for RTO, charges are collected only for customer returns

I sell on different categories, even though there is more RTOs and customer returns compared to amazon and flipkart, the total sales is also more compared to them.

in my case i have an average of 10% RTOs and 8% customer returns.

@simiti-lights these numbers are common in ecommerce

The rate of return for ecommerce sales hovers in the 20% to 30% range. They are commonly higher than brick-and-mortar stores and should be accounted for as part of common business practices. https://www.bigcommerce.com/articles/ecommerce/returns/
